Welcome to Keeseekoose Chiefs Education Centre (KCEC)

As the proud Principal of KCEC, located on Keeseekoose First Nation Treaty Four territory, it is my honour to welcome students, families, and community members to our school website.

Our Pre‑K to Grade 12 school is guided by care, respect, and a commitment to nurturing the whole child. We welcome every student with love and open arms. Our goal is to support students mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We are a staff who are always learning and growing so we can meet these needs. By working together—families, Elders, staff, and community—we help our students succeed not only academically but in life.

Education is a pathway to opportunity, self‑determination, and resilience. At KCEC we value strong literacy and numeracy skills, critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong learning. We also recognize that cultural knowledge, language, and connection to the land are central to identity and well‑being. Students learn best when classroom learning is balanced with hands‑on experiences, time on the land, and teachings from Elders and knowledge keepers.

We believe in preparing learners for a changing world. That means offering relevant technology and digital skills so our students can thrive in modern careers and connect with the wider world. At the same time, we honour the importance of slowing down—learning by observation, storytelling, and land‑based practices that build cultural strength, resilience, and a deep sense of belonging.
